[email protected] Robert James Lee Hawke AC GCL (9 December 1929 – 16 May 2019) was an Australian politician and trade unionist who served as the 23rd prime minister of Australia from 1983 to 1991. He held office as the leader of the Australian Labor Party (ALP), having previously served as the president of the Australian Council of Trade Unions from 1969 to 1980 and president of the Labor Party national executive from 1973 to 1978. Bob passed away in 2019 aged 89. This framed item is signed twice by Bob, the copy of the speech is signed and there is another copy of his signature included in the framing. These are personally signed items. The frame is approx 60 x 55cm. This item was purchased at a charity auction held in Canberra, for the Marlene Harrison-Gray Memorial Trust (invoiced on 1 September 2001 – $1,000).
